Alas, there was no screener for this new (technically) competition show pitting talented hopefuls against each other to win fame and fortune. The series premiers tonight on NBC at 9 p.m.
Do I sound less than enthused? I might be more excited about this one, if for no other reason than the initial auditions are heard blind. It’s all about the singing – at least initially.
But let’s be real. There are 50 bazillion similar shows out there. Even with the vocal coaches and the blind auditions, the show amounts to the same thing – kids trying to get rich and famous.
I am open to the possibility that there may be more to this one. But I’m not expecting it. If you think so, please share and let us know.
